Mehli Mistry stepped down from SDTT (Sir Dorabji TATA Trust) last year in November, asking for the appointment of the administrator to look after the affairs of the SDTT (Sir Dorabji Tata Trust) and alleging repeated procedural breaches, disregard of binding decisions, lapses in fiduciary responsibility, and selective reliance on past resolutions.
The accusations were made because of an application filed earlier this week with the Maharashtra Charity. Also, the commissioner attacked the leadership of Mehli Mistry and five trustees, including Vijay Singh, Venu Srinivasan, Noel Tata, and other trustees.
Also, Mistry had contested the eligibility of Singh and Venu Srinivasan in the Bai Hirabai Jamsetji Tata Navsari Charitable Institution, which has Tata Group and Tata Sons Ownership. This was followed by Venu Srinivasan stepping down as Bai Hirabai trustee, but he still continues as Tata Trusts Vice Chairman. Mistry points out that Venu Srinivasan and Singh were not Mumbai residents nor Parsis.
