A conference held at King George's Medical University showcased that AI-based tools will aid haematologists in predicting disease progression related to blood problems. This program was planned for final-year DM clinical haematology students from different medical institutions across India. The training on these AI tools focused on predictive models that will help in patient management. According to experts, these training models will help in risk management and treatment planning for better patient care.
Vice Chancellor of KGMU said that AI will help in modern medicine and will help in better treatment decisions for patients, but doctors should ensure that AI technology offers proper patient care. This two-day conference also discussed medico-legal documentation, medical ethics and patient counselling. Senior professionals also discussed maintaining clinical records and communicating with families of ill patients. The participants were sensitised to ethical problems related to patient data, including AI-generated results against clinical findings. With clinical training and AI tools, it is possible to offer specialized blood disorder care.
