HDFC Bank has allowed a work-from-home policy for up to two days for staff working in Corporate Enabling and Business Enabling functions for a month due to rising crude oil prices and to support Modi's appeal to opt for a work-from-home policy to consume less fuel.

This major push by HDFC Bank will help to conserve petrol and diesel as India's crude oil prices have spiked due to the US-Iran war. All the HDFC branches will continue to work as normal. Currently, 2 lakh employees are working for HDFC Bank in India. Corporate Enabling Functions cover compliance and legal, board functions, human resources and accounts. While Business Enabling Functions cover digital banking, IT solutions, treasury operations and credit risk. Axis Bank has also opted for a two-day work-from-home policy in a week to support PM Modi's measures on fuel conservation.
