Google Search has experienced a glitch on 22 May, when people were searching a word disregard that gave a chatbot response understood. Social media users experienced a malfunction. Also, when Google Search users searched for dismiss, start, stop, ignore and other command words, they experienced this glitch. AI mode was introduced in 2025 that offers a conservational experience. Typing disregard produced a blank space. Users were frustrated due to this issue. They had to scroll a huge block of empty space to see an AI response that didn't serve any value.
This shows that there is a fundamental problem after its AI mode shift. Google said that the malfunction is unrelated to the AI updates announced on 19th May. This has raised a question of reliability of AI-powered results.
