There are 29 percent of Indian employees who are satisfied with their pay slips; others are planning to ask their employers for a salary hike to meet increasing inflation expenses, as per the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants survey. This report highlights that the cost of living is the biggest concern in India.
According to the survey, 81 percent are planning to ask for a salary raise from their employers in the next 12 months. This is higher compared to 2025 and the global average in 2026. Due to increasing inflation, household budgets have been affected across India. Only 29 percent of Indians are satisfied with their salary compared to the global average of 36 percent. 68 percent of Indians are expecting 10 percent hikes, with Gen X workers expecting the highest at 76 percent, Millennials at 55 percent, while Gen Z is expecting 60 percent. Also, mid-level professionals are giving equal importance to work and pay. Employers are experiencing salary hike pressure from employees due to rising inflation across the country.
