IMF Projects India's Growth At 6.4 Percent In 2026

In a recent World Economic Outlook report 2026, the IMF has shared that India continues to hold its leading position despite the global slowdown in the economy. This report showcases that overall global growth is expected to slow down to 3 percent, and world trade volume will reduce to 3.5 percent in 2026. Developing countries will slow down to 3.8 percent, while Malaysia will grow at 4.7 percent, and Vietnam may see a growth of 7.5 percent. Japan and the US will see a decrease in growth, whereas Korea will grow due to the increase in semiconductor demand. Europe's growth is estimated at 0.9 percent, and the UK is estimated to fall by 1 percent. Saudi Arabia will see an increase in growth compared to Qatar, Iraq, and Kuwait. IMF said that the UK will meet its inflation targets by mid-2027, while Japan and the US will end in 2027.
